The international police action “Black guy 2” is ongoing throughout BiH, in which several people have been arrested so far, including some of the high-ranking police officials, who are linked to the “Tito and Dino” drug cartel.
“Arrests and searches are carried out in dozens of locations, in the area of Sarajevo, Zenica and Mostar, and the target of the action is several suspected physical and legal persons, and among the arrested are high-ranking officials of police agencies and law enforcement institutions,” announced the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH .
International support for the action was provided by the FBI, DEA and Europol.
More than 15 people are suspected, who are linked to organized crime, unauthorized trafficking of large quantities of narcotic drugs, money laundering and other related crimes.
Sarajevo media announced that Mustafa Selmanović, head of the Special Police of the MUP of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Sarajevo businessman Gordan Memija, have been arrested so far.
The media report that a warrant was also issued for the arrest of the Director of the Police of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vahidin Munjić.
Drug lord Edin Gačanin, known as Tito, made an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office in the Netherlands in November last year and was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of one million euros for drug smuggling.
Edin Gačanin is the biggest Balkan drug lord, who has Dutch citizenship, and has been on the American “blacklist” since March last year.
A native of Sarajevo, Gačanin included members of his family and friends from Bosnia and Herzegovina in his cartel.
