Hizbullah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said in an address aired on Al-Araby TV (Qatar) on September 19, 2025, that Saudi Arabia should turn a new leaf with the resistance. He called for dialogue that addresses problems and fears and is based on the principle that Israel – not the resistance – is the enemy. He urged freezing past disagreements so the focus can shift to confronting Israel. Qassem added that pressure on the resistance only benefits Israel, warning that if the resistance did not exist, these countries would eventually be targeted. He said that the resistance in Palestine serves as a dam against Israeli expansion.
Naim Qassem: “I call on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to turn a new leaf with the resistance, in accordance with the following principles: First, a dialogue that will deal with the problems, address the fears, and secure the interests.
“Second, a dialogue built on Israel, and not the resistance, being the enemy.
“Third, a dialogue that will put a freeze on the disagreements of the past, at least at this extraordinary stage, so that we can turn to confronting Israel and reining it in.
“Fourth, we assure you that the weapons of the resistance are turned against the Israeli enemy, and not Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, or anyone else in the world. The reality on the ground attests to that, and we continue on that path.
“Fifth, exerting pressure on the resistance constitutes net gain for Israel, and if the resistance does not exist, the turn of the countries [themselves] will come.
“Sixth, even the resistance in Palestine is part of the [broader] resistance that serves as a dam against Israeli expansion.”
