How many people does Apartheid Israel have to kill before the World acts decisively to stop the killing? In 1960 the World responded to the killing of 69 Africans with Sanctions on Apartheid South Africa. By 25 April 2025 deaths from violence and deprivation in the Gaza Genocide totalled 680,000 but the World ignores deaths from imposed deprivation that are 4 times violent deaths. Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) on Apartheid Israel and all its supporters NOW.
In short, key requisite global actions to end the Zionist-imposed Gaza Genocide and the 58-year Occupation are (a) exposing Gaza deaths, (b) demanding for Palestinians all the human rights enjoyed by the West and the rest of Humanity and (c) draconian application of Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all of its supporters (notably the US, UK and Australia) if (a) and (b) don’t happen NOW. Cessation of the killing and restoration of Palestinian human rights can both be effected by the stroke of a pen.
In 2024 I published a huge book entitled “Free Palestine. End Apartheid Israel, Human Rights Denial, Gaza Massacre, Child Killing, Occupation and Palestinian Genocide”. The sub-title lists 6 crucial things to be done to free Palestine from 78 years of . genocidal abuse. However the immediate problem is how to stop the killing and suffering immediately and permanently.
The crucial actions required are to (a) immediately and permanently end the killing by exposing shocking Gaza deaths from violence and deprivation (680,000 as of 25 April 2025), (b) restore to all Palestinians all the human rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and from which Occupied Palestinians have been excluded for 58 years, and (c) impose draconian global Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all its supporters if (a) and (b) don’t happen immediately.
In addition , at a personal level all those having goods or services from or intimacy with anyone from, for example, the Apartheid Israel-supporting US, UK or Australia, must seriously question who they are dealing with. Thus, for example, of 226 members of the Australian Federal Parliament only the 11 Greens and just several other like-minded MPs demand an immediate end to the Gaza Genocide and the Zionist Israeli Occupation.
After WW2 many Germans claimed that they didn’t know what was happening. Presently the World is looking on while the US vetoes UN Security Council action, the US and Israel reject the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and Western Mainstream media under-count Gazan deaths from violence and imposed deprivation as 56,000 (June 2025) i.e. under-counting the 680,000 deaths by a factor of 12 [1].
The Gaza Genocide and the century-long Palestinian Genocide by the Numbers: It is crucially important to quantitatively and comparatively assess the number of deaths and other aspects of the horrific Gaza Genocide (0.7 million deaths) and the century-long Palestinian Genocide (2.7 million deaths from violence, 0.2 million, and deprivation, 2.5 million) as summarized in the List of FORTY (40) Apartheid Israel-related matters set out below.
(1). From data published by expert epidemiologists in the leading medical journal The Lancet, by 25 April 2025 (war dead remembrance Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand) it is estimated that Gaza deaths from violence (136,000) and imposed deprivation (544,000 on the “conservative” basis that they were 4 times the violent deaths) total 680,000 or about 0.7 million.
(2). Critically, the UNHCR reports: “The burden of indirect deaths was between three and 15 times the number of direct deaths… A reasonable average estimate would be a ratio of four indirect deaths”. My book “Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950” estimated a ratio of 1 (Iraq War) and 16 (Afghan War). Western Mainstream media presently report 56,000 deaths and thus under-count Gaza deaths 12-fold by ignoring 544,000 indirect deaths from imposed deprivation.
(3). Under-5 infant deaths are about 70% of avoidable deaths from deprivation in impoverished countries, this implying 380,000 Gaza under-5 infant deaths. The 680,000 Gaza deaths from violence and imposed deprivation by 25 April 2025 included deaths of about 380,000 under-5 year old infants, 479,000 children in total, 63,000 women and 138,000 men.
(4). National Security Agency (NSA)-advised President Donald Trump has repeatedly indicated 1.7 million Gazans surviving from the pre-war population of 2.4 million i.e. 0.7 million “missing”, and allowing for 0.1 million who escaped to Egypt, this implies 0.6 million Gazans killed by early 2025. A recent 2025 Israeli study implies 577,000 Gazans missing given a pre-war Gaza population of 2.4 million.
(5). “Children killed per year”: 479,000/1.54 years = 311,039 (Gaza Genocide) versus 1,500,000/6 years = 250,000 (Jewish children killed by the German Nazis in WW2).
(6). “Prisoners killed per day per million of captive population”: 601(Gaza Genocide) versus 23 (Australian prisoners of war of the Japanese in WW2).
(7). “Percentage of total pre-war population killed”: 28% (Gaza Genocide) versus 59% (captive Jews in WW2) and 28% (Hungarian Jews in WW2, my people).
(8) “Child percentage of those killed”: 70% (Gaza Genocide) versus 25% (Jews killed in WW2).
(9). Before the Gaza Genocide children were 47.3% of the 2.4 million Gaza population but are now 38.2% of the remaining Gaza population.
(10). Number of injured Gazans: 132,000.
(11). Guardian-reported survey of Gaza children (December 2024): “96% of them feel that their death is imminent and almost half want to die as a result of the trauma they have been through”. Terrorism is as terrorism does.
(12) “Percentage of children sexually abused” before the Gaza Genocide: 18% (US and US-backed Israel) and 25% (Israel-backing Australia), this exposing an utterly perverted perpetrator mindset. Innocent Jewish children are subject to intellectual child abuse by Apartheid- and genocide-promoting Zionist teachers.
(13). The Palestinian Breakout from the Gaza Concentration Camp and the 58-year Zionist Israeli Occupation was associated with the deaths of 1,139 Israelis, this yielding an Occupied/Occupier Reprisals Death Ratio of 680,000/1,139 = 597 or 60 times greater than the Reprisals Death Ratio of 10 ordered by Nazi mass murderer Hitler and immediately effected in the 1944 Ardeatine Cave Massacre in Rome. Terrorism is as terrorism does.
(14). Respected Western journalists have disputed the “official Zionist Israeli narrative” and it is likely that the 7 October 2023 Breakout was deliberately enabled by the Zionist Israelis to provide a 9/11-style excuse for the complete destruction and ethnic cleansing of Gaza (for gas resources and real estate) that has now been proposed both by Trump and the Zionist Israelis. Many of the Israelis killed on 7 October 2023 were victims of the high explosive firepower of the responding IDF operating under the IDF Hannibal Directive (prevent hostage taking even if it means killing the hostages). If 50% of the Israelis were killed by the IDF then the Occupied/Occupier Reprisals Death Ratio of 680,000/570 = 1,193 (119 times greater than the 10 ordered by Hitler. In stark contrast, the Occupied/Occupier Reprisals Death Ratio in Gaza from 2008 to 6 October 2023 was 21.
(15). Of the 1,139 Israelis killed on 7 October 2023 about 97.5% were adults and hence mostly former or present soldiers involved in the illegal and genocidal Occupation. Under International Law a subjugated people have the right to rebel and defend themselves but Occupiers have no right to defend themselves in a belligerently and illegally occupied territory. Starvation of a population is prohibited as a war strategy and violates the Fourth Geneva Convention and the Genocide Convention.
(16). “Journalists killed per year per million of population”: 50 (Gaza Genocide) versus 0.007 (the World).
(17). “Children killed per year per million of population”: 129,600 or 17,052 times greater than for the World (7.6) and 1,712 times greater than for crime-wracked Honduras (75.7). Terrorism is as terrorism does.
(18). In Gaza up to 280 government schools and 65 UNRWA-run schools have been destroyed or damaged.
(19). No Gaza children could attend school since November 2023 – unforgivable physical and intellectual child abuse by Zionist Israelis.
(20). All 14 Gaza universities have been destroyed or severely damaged.
(21). UN (June 2025): “Only 17 of Gaza’s 36 hospitals are currently partially functional, medical supplies are critically low and no fuel has entered the Strip for more than 100 days”.
(22). The US, US Alliance, NATO (except for Turkiye), Australia, New Zealand and some US-allied Island States fervently support Apartheid Israel. The US supplied the bombs to destroy Gaza, plus intelligence, and vetoing UNSC resolutions. The UK provided arms, bases, intelligence and diplomatic support for the Gaza Massacre. The US supplied Israel with 69% of its arms and Germany supplied about 29%. Australia backed Israel with arms deals, diplomacy and intelligence via the Pine Gap electronic spying base, and is complicit in the Gaza Genocide in 20 ways and lies for Apartheid Israel in 35 ways. The US and US Alliance rightly applied sanctions on Russia for its illegal invasion of Ukraine but in Palestine they blame the Palestinian victims of genocidal Zionist aggression.
(23). Nearly all NATO countries plus Australia and Argentina belong to the fervently Zionist, all-European and Apartheid Israel-supporting International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) that is anti-Jewish anti-Semitic and anti-Arab anti-Semitic (by falsely defaming anti-racist Jewish, non-Jewish, Palestinian, Arab and Muslim critics of Apartheid Israel as assertedy “antisemitic”), and holocaust denying (by ignoring all WW2 holocausts other than the WW2 Jewish Holocaust and indeed some 70 genocides and holocausts). Note the following WW2 holocausts (deaths from violence and deprivation in brackets): the Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million), Polish Holocaust (6 million), European Holocaust (30 million), Sinti and Roma Holocaust (1 million), Soviet Holocaust (23 million), Chinese Holocaust (35-40 million) and the Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, Bengal Famine; 6-7 million).
(24). While Israel voted Yes for 6 million obvious reasons, the US, Ukraine and nearly all US-allied countries voted No to the annual UNGA Anti-Nazism Resolution.
(25). There is a shocking list of 52 Zionist- and Apartheid Israeli-Nazi Germany comparisons that has been made. Nazi is as Nazi does. Zionazism is an appropriate neologism. Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism.
(26). As called by important human rights groups, Israel is not a democracy – it is an Apartheid state. Before the Gaza Massacre Indigenous Palestinians were 51% of the Subjects of Apartheid Israel but 73% (the 5.6 million Occupied Palestinians) were excluded from voting for the government ruling them. About 2.1 million Israeli Palestinians can vote for Zionist-approved candidates bur are subject to 65 race-based, Nazi-style discriminatory laws. 7 million Exiled Palestinians cannot live in the land continuously inhabited by their Semitic forebears for 4 millennia.
(27). Apartheid Israel has 90 nuclear weapons, 5 Germany-supplied submarines to carry them, and rejects the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty ( NPT) and a nuclear weapons-free Middle East.
(28). Israel has invaded 14 countries, bombed 5 countries in 2025 alone, and has seized the territory of 4 countries. 24 million avoidable deaths from deprivation in 1950-2005 in countries partly occupied by Israel.
(29). Zionism is genocidal racism and Nazism without gas chambers but with 90 nuclear weapons, and a high technology military and arms industry that are among world leaders.
(30). Israel engaged in horrific ethnic cleansing in the 1948 Nakba (Catastrophe; 800,000 or 60% of the Palestinian population expelled, 530 villages emptied), the 1957 Naksa (Setback; 400,000 expelled) and repeated mass population displacements in the Gaza Genocide with total ethnic cleansing advocated by the US and Israel. The Zionist Israelis want all of Palestine plus other lands with the Indigenous inhabitants to be killed, expelled or brutally confined to ghettoes or concentration camps.
(31). Most Jews are non-Semitic Ashkenazi Jews (like me) and descend from non-Semitic Turkic Khazar converts to Judaism in Southern Russia in about the 9th century CE (DNA analysis says that I am mostly Ashkenazi Jewish but with zero Middle Eastern (Semitic) contribution). The Palestinians and other Arabs are Semitic.
(32). The World ignores 680,000 Gazans killed by Apartheid Israel but (a) when South African police shot 69 Africans in the 1960 Sharpeville Massacre the World imposed rigorous Sanctions that eventually ended Apartheid in South Africa; (b) those substantially under-reporting deaths in the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million) are jailed in Israel and several European countries; and (c) the abusing, traumatizing, injuring, starving, and killing of Gazans would result in jailing if applied to livestock or pet animals in Australia.
(33). Those supporting Apartheid Israel and hence the utterly vile crime of Apartheid are unfit for decent company, public life and public office in a one-person-one-vote democracy.
(34). 479,000 children killed in Gaza by US-, West- and Australia-backed Zionist Israelis in Gaza by 25 April 2025. Wonderful Jewish Palestinian humanitarian Jesus: “And whosoever shall offend ONE of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea”.
(35). Google “Jews against racist Zionism” to find, for example, “Jews should be Jews – not Nazis” (Moshe Menuhin) and “The Zionists are the worst anti-Semites in the world today, oppressing a Semitic people as no nation has done since the Nazis” (Bertell Ollman).
(36). The core ethos of Humanity is Kindness and Truth but Zionism involves genocidal racism, egregious mendacity and remorseless theft. There are 2 kinds of people in the World, those opposing the mass murder of children and the unforgivable others. Silence is complicity.
(37). “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7.20, The Holy Bible, New Testament, King James Version) is commonly paraphrased as “judge them by their actions not their words”. In addition to material complicity in the Gaza Genocide, rhetoric aside the US, UK, Australia and the US Alliance have done nothing concrete (e.g. BDS) to stop the Zionist Israeli Gaza Genocjde. Inaction is complicity.
(38). The Apartheid Israel-permitted Occupied Palestinian Breakout from the Gaza Concentration Camp was to get hostages of which 240 were secured. Apartheid Israel covertly enabled the Breakout to obtain a 9/11-style “excuse” for mass murder and ethnic cleansing of Gaza, possibly the West Bank and even possibly the whole of Palestine.
(39). Al Jazeera on Palestinian hostages: “Of those in detention [9,900]: 3,498 are held without charge or trial, 400 are children, 27 are women, and 299 are serving life sentences… 5,250 political prisoners in October 2023, 9,900 in April 2025…Since October 7, Israel has detained about 30,000 Palestinians. During the prisoner-captive exchanges with Hamas, Israel has released just more than 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. That means, for every person released, 15 others were apprehended. During the most recent ceasefire exchange earlier this year, 739 Palestinians from Gaza were freed, that’s out of 15,000 that had been detained. While in the occupied West Bank, 652 were released, but nearly 14,500 have been detained.”
(40).Ignored by the mendacious Western Mainstream media, 5.6 million Occupied Palestinians were held prisoner (hostages) under Occupier guns in October 2023 and today the remaining 4.9 million are held hostage, starved, shot at and bombed, with 0.7 million having been killed. The 240 Israeli hostages have been fed by their captors and those killed (about 75) have been killed by Zionist Israeli bombing.
Final comments and conclusions.
As a WW2 Jewish Holocaust-impacted Ashkenazi Jewish Hungarian Australian scientist, scholar and humanitarian writer with a sole national allegiance to the country of my birth, Australia, I am inescapably bound by the key moral imperatives of the World War 2 (WW2) Jewish Holocaust, of all WW2 holocausts and indeed of all genocides and holocausts, namely “zero tolerance for lying”, “zero tolerance for racism”, “bear witness” and “never again to anyone”.
Driven by these moral imperatives, the academic imperative to respect Truth, Humanity’s core ethos of Kindness and Truth, and the existential threats to Humanity and the Biosphere from nuclear weapons and climate change, I have been researching actual and prospective “deaths from violence and imposed deprivation” due to war, occupation, famine, and hegemony for 3 decades with the results published in about 1,000 typically lengthy and exhaustively referenced articles [2-6] and 9 huge books (including massively updated further editions) [7-12]. Indeed if you Google the phrase “deaths from violence and imposed deprivation” most of the articles found are by me (articles by specialist medical epidemiologists are typically in specialist journals, behind firewalls and not readily found by Google searches).
However for nearly 2 decades I have been rendered almost “invisible” to Mainstream Australia due to false defamation and censorship by Zionists and by other gate-keepers in Zionist-perverted, US lackey Australia. Each week I individually address carefully researched and written Letters to major Australian Mainstream media but they are very rarely published and the science-informed and Numbers-based Facts therein are simply not reported to look-the-other-way Mainstream Australia [6]. Less frequently I write lengthier Letters to all Australian Federal MPs, all Victorian State MPs, and to a huge body of journalists, academics and activists in Australia and around the World [2] but with rare exceptions the Silence is Deafening.

John Stuart Mill in “On Liberty” (1859): “The real advantage which truth has, consists in this, that when an opinion is true, it may be extinguished once, twice, or many times, but in the course of ages there will generally be found persons to rediscover it, until some one of its reappearances falls on a time when from favorable circumstances it escapes persecution until it has made such head as to withstand all subsequent attempts to suppress it” [13, 14]. Thus the discovery by Eratosthenes (276 BCE – circa 195/194 BCE) that the Earth was a sphere and orbited around the Sun was eclipsed by the Ptolemaic theory that the Sun orbited the Earth, but was eventually rediscovered nearly 2 millennia later by Galileo, Copernicus and Kepler.
However Humanity cannot wait as the Zionist-imposed Gaza Genocide has been mercilessly killing Gazans through violence and deprivation for 20 months at an overall rate of killing of about 1,400 per day, mostly children. The World must stop this horrific Killing, Occupation and Human Rights Denial NOW through immediate imposition of draconian Boycotts, Divestments and Sanctions (BDS) against unforgivable Apartheid Israel and all of its unforgivable supporters, notably the US, UK and Australia. Inaction is complicity. Silence is complicity.
