5+5 Dialogue to focus on security and regional crises

Security, fight against terrorism and the situation in the Arab world will be on the agenda of the 13th meeting, Friday in Marseille, of the Foreign Affairs Minister of 5+5 Dialogue on the western Mediterranean.

This meeting of the western Mediterranean’s countries will bring together, in addition to Algeria, Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia.

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra will lead the Algerian delegation to the meeting’s works.

Foreign Affairs ministers of 5+5 Dialogue’s member countries will examine on this occasion, said Wednesday a communiqué of Foreign Affairs Ministry, “several regional and international issues like the situation in Libya, Syria and Iraq, security and fight against terrorism, development and cooperation, education, employment and youth, climate challenges in anticipation of COP 22.”

The ministry underlined in the communiqué that Algeria, which grants a “particular importance” to this dialogue, “will seize this opportunity to reiterate its long-standing position of support to the promotion of neighbourly ties and strengthening of cooperation and partnership relations between its member States.”
