Iran’s April 13 attack on Israel was a watershed moment in the countries’ history. The attack involved the first-ever direct strikes launched from Iranian territory onto Israeli soil, with an unprecedented number of ballistic missiles fired in a single military operation by Iran. The decision to retaliate directly against Israel’s attack on an Iranian embassy was intended not only to showcase Iran’s resolve but also to restore conventional deterrence with Israel. Moreover, the attack marked a significant shift in the country’s strategic thinking and approach to dealing with its longtime regional adversary. Rather than restoring the balance with Israel, Iran has opened up the prospect of further escalation.

1. Faute de mieux, afin de raviver une mobilisation occidentale contre l’Iran, les agents d’influence israéliens viennent d’obtenir une nouvelle sentence de la Cour de cassation argentine répétant que c’est l’Iran qui avait organisé «l’attentat antisémite de 1994, concocté par l’Iran, mis en œuvre par le Hezbollah à Buenos Aires», ce que les agents du Mossad avaient affirmé au lendemain même (sic) de la nuit où ils avaient atterri à Buenos Aires pour «mener l’enquête». «Iran did it», c’est ce qu’on nous répète imperturbablement depuis 30 ans, avec des rappels (comme pour les vaccins ?) à chaque anniversaire, le 18 juillet, d’une explosion qui a eu lieu dans les locaux du centre communautaire juif, et non pas dans la rue, ce qui a été visible dès le premier jour, les vitres du trottoir d’en face n’ayant même pas été brisées… Aucun fait nouveau concernant l’explosion n’est apparu, il s’agit simplement de reprendre des poursuites contre l’ex-présidente Cristina Kirchner en tant que «traître à la patrie argentine et complice du terrorisme de l’Iran», parce qu’elle aurait eu des arrière-pensées, en signant l’accord de 2013 avec l’Iran, visant en fait à protéger les diplomates iraniens qui auraient préparé l’explosion de la bombe à l’AMIA!!! (un précédent jugement l’avait déclarée innocente).
2. Tout le monde a compris que la guerre contre Gaza n’est qu’une nouvelle étape du plan Balfour : vider la Palestine de ses habitants pour y installer des juifs afin qu’ils perpétuent le projet britannique de maîtrise coloniale éternelle sur la région, par la violence et la division.
3. Les intérêts britanniques s’opposent à ceux des USA, dans l’étape actuelle, ce qui affaiblit d’autant la propagande israélienne et le chantage de Netanyahou sur le gouvernement de Biden. Celui-ci menace maintenant de réduire les exportations d’armes à l’entité génocidaire, situation totalement inédite.
4. L’armée israélienne subit des pertes conséquentes, n’a pas pu s’offrir le bain de sang si ardemment souhaité pour anéantir la ville de Rafah, ni forcer l’Égypte à accepter une invasion de Gazaouis ; Tsahal est harcelée par les Houthis au sud, le Hezbollah au nord.
5. Les sondages évoquent une population israélienne réclamant encore plus de férocité contre les Palestiniens, mais de fait, les Israéliens assiègent les aéroports, et s’installent en masse en Argentine, le sud peu peuplé étant déjà de fait, une colonie israélienne. La société israélienne Navitas Petroleum LP exploite illégalement le pétrole de îles Malouines, toujours occupées par le Royaume-Uni, qui les appellent Falklands.
6. Le nouveau gouvernement argentin agit en valet obséquieux d’Israël, le président argentin Javier Milei s’étant précipité à Tel-Aviv pour signer des contrats d’exclusivité avec Israël pour l’exploitation du lithium. (Voltaire actualité internationale n°75, 23 février 2024 )
7. Le Mossad n’est pas parvenu depuis longtemps à organiser un attentat sous faux drapeau pour accuser les Iraniens de terrorisme. Au contraire, il n’a même pas cherché à maquiller le carnage opéré en territoire iranien, au consulat iranien de Damas. Et la sagesse iranienne, combinée avec la prudence de Biden l’échaudé, font capoter le plan israélien de provocation de l’Iran afin d’obliger les USA à s’engager à nouveau dans un soutien inconditionnel à Netanyahou.
8. Toute la classe politique argentine baisse la tête devant l’intimidation israélienne, mais elle n’est pas dupe.

In this case, however, Storm Daniel assaulted Libya with a biblical-style deluge for four straight days. It was enough to overwhelm the al-Bilad and Abu Mansour dams near the city of Derna, built in the 1970s to old cool-earth specifications. The resulting flood destroyed nearly 1,000 buildings, washing thousands of people out to sea, and displaced tens of thousands more.

Israel and its allies fended off almost all the armed drones and missiles fired by Iran on 13 April. This outcome affords both sides a face-saving way out of what could otherwise be a ruinous broader confrontation.

Israeli army officers believe that they can’t defeat Hamas and Israel’s war on HAMAS will have to last till 2026 and possibly 2027.

Despite the massive destruction of Gaza by the Israeli army and the terrible killings of civilians, the Palestinian resistance movement led by Hamas’ Izz Al Din Al Qassam Brigades and Saraya Al Quds of Islamic Jihad still remain a formidable force in the Gaza Strip.

There is no need, therefore, to abandon the terms jihadism and jihadist out of political correctness or fear of offending Muslims. When appropriately defined, those terms are helpful in grasping the terrorist and insurgent threats and challenges posed by al-Qa’ida, the Islamic State and similar groups — far more so than khawarij, a term that does not have immediately clear meaning for wider audiences, is historically inaccurate, and sounds like a sneaky effort to cloud a very real threat.

Military experience gained from fighting in Syria’s civil war and decades of clashes with Israel has strengthened the Iran-backed group, but politically, its clout among Lebanon’s populace may be waning.
