Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Taieb Baccouche met, Wednesday in Tunis, his Libyan counterpart Mohamed Dairi.
The meeting focused on the Inter-Libyan dialogue session scheduled for August 27 and 28 in the city of Skhirat, Morocco under the umbrella of the United Nations mission in Libya.
Taieb Baccouche emphasised the importance of speeding up the formation of a consensual government in Libya, one that receives support from the international community to be able to focus later on the fight against terrorism and building the institutions of the state.
He expressed confidence in the wisdom of the two Libyan sides and their ability to overcome contentious points and reach an agreement, reiterating Tunisia’s continuous support to Libya.
The Libyan Minister commended Tunisia’s constant position in favour of the Libyan Revolution and its efforts to reconcile the views of all Libyan sides. “History will record the position of the Tunisian government and its brotherly people on Libya,” he added.
