The chief of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Mongi Hamdi called to stand in the way of the parties seeking to “impede the implementation of the peace agreement in Mali, stressing the need “to continue efforts and consultations within the framework of the Peace Agreement Implementation Monitoring Committee.”
In a statement to the press at the end of the audience granted to him by Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, Hamdi mentioned “some problems recorded a few weeks ago in Mali,” and underlined the need to stand in the way of “the parties seeking to impede the implementation of the historic peace agreement in Mali.”
In this regard, the MINUSMA chief stressed the need to “continue efforts, consultations and coordination within the framework of the Peace Agreement Implementation Monitoring Committee,” underlining “Algeria’s pioneer role in achieving this peaceful solution.”
