Top generals step down in ominous sign for Turkish military in Syria

Top generals in charge of Turkey’s military operations in Syria have sought retirement amid escalating tensions in Idlib, fueling questions over Ankara’s Syria policies.

Turkey was rattled last week by reports that five generals serving on Syria-related missions were seeking to resign, including the head of a command center in charge of all Turkish operations in Syria and two others at the helm of commando forces that are deployed in Syria on a rotational basis.

Europa a trăit umilință după umilință din partea Statelor Unite, a presedintelui Donald Trump, dar și din partea președintelui Joe Biden, cel care a promis întărirea relației transatlantice. Se întâmplă astfel pentru că Europa nu mai este centrul politic de gravitație al lumii, pentru că Europa este trecutul, în timp ce viitorul aparține Asiei, consideră Pat Buchanan, pentru care apusul Europei este un fenomen implacabil.

Lavrov Says Mali Asked Private Russian Military Firm For Help

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the military junta in Mali has turned to “private Russian companies” for help in its fight against Islamist insurgents in the Western African country.

“This is activity which has been carried out on a legitimate basis,” Lavrov said during a press conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 25. “We have nothing to do with that.”

Greed is good?

Mali to Hire Wagner Group to Fight Terrorists as the EU Draws a Red Line Against Russia

The military transitional government of Mali is expected to announce a deal with the Russian Wagner Group to combat the Islamic jihadist movements that are spreading violence across the country.

Moscow has confirmed the deal. Nevertheless, it stated that it had nothing to do with the negotiations as Mali approached Wagner directly. Moscow said that Mali feels it is effectively being banned by France which decided to unilaterally withdraw from the country.
