The Israel Defense Forces are ramping up attacks over Lebanon clearly designed to wholly destroy Hezbollah; having struck some 1,300 targets to date, the Israeli operation has killed at least 550, wounded over 1,800, and already displaced thousands, sowing widespread panic.
As Lebanon continues to bear the devastating brunt of the Israeli campaign, Hezbollah will be increasingly at risk of losing credibility with those who want revenge for the widespread destruction and those angry at the militant group for unnecessarily dragging them into war.
Hezbollah has announced the martyrdom of the great jihadist leader Hajj Ibrahim Aqil (Hajj Abdul Qadir) on the path to Jerusalem. He has joined the procession of his brothers among the great martyr leaders after a blessed life filled with jihad, work, wounds, sacrifices, dangers, challenges, achievements, and victories.

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said in a speech during a September 22, 2024 funeral held for Hizbullah operations chief Ibrahim Aqil, a veteran Hizbullah operative who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut alongside several top commanders from Hizbullah’s elite Radwan Unit, that the United States is fully complicit in Israel’s aggression, crimes, and genocide and will not be able to convince anybody otherwise. He said that America is destined for destruction just like Israel and led the crowd in chants of “Death to America!” Qassem also said that the Zionists have “globalized the resistance in Palestine,” and “caused the elixir of resistance to develop in fetuses.” Qasem promised that the Lebanese front in support of Palestine will continue until the war in Gaza ends. In addition, he promised that the residents of northern Israel will not be able to return to their homes, that more Israelis will be displaced, and that the new phase of the conflict is called “the Battle of the Unsettled Score.” Moreover, he promised that Hizbullah will act “out-of-the-box” and will fight and kill the Israelis in places they do not expect.
